BLUE LAGOON
The Blue Lagoon is probably the most famous cocktail with blue curaçao. A beautiful summery long drink cocktail with the clarity of a tropical lagoon and the taste of a fresh breeze! This blue summer cocktail is a trip down memory lane. It’s believed that the Blue Lagoon was created by Andy MacElhone, the son of famed bartender Harry MacElhone, at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris in the 1960s or early 1970s. So, the drink predates the 1980 movie of the same name.
Ingredients
- Sprite
- 3/4 oz (20ml) Lemon or Lime juice
- 1 oz (30ml) Blue Curaçao
- 1 to 2 oz. (30 - 60ml) Vodka
Method
- 1. Add the vodka, blue curaçao and lemon/lime juice to a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
2. Strain into a glass over crushed ice.
3. Garnish with a lemon wheel and maraschino cherry.
