A modern classic built on a simple, satisfying combination of bourbon, honey and fresh lemon. The Gold Rush is a whiskey sour variation with honey syrup in place of sugar, giving it a rounded sweetness while keeping a bright citrus finish.

Ingredients

  • 2 Oz. (60 ml) Bourbon
  • 3/4 Oz. (22.5 ml) Fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 Oz. (22.5 ml) Honey syrup

Method

    Add bourbon, fresh lemon juice and honey syrup to a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously until well chilled, then strain into a lowball glass over fresh ice, preferably one large cube. Garnish with a lemon twist if desired. For honey syrup, mix honey with an equal volume of warm water and cool before use.
