KISS OF WINTER

winter
cherry

A stolen kiss from the coldest season. Kiss of Winter brings dark cherry and warm cinnamon together with the bright botanicals of gin, a touch of orange and fresh lemon. Served ice-cold, it balances a wintry, spiced finish with a lively citrus edge. An original house cocktail, developed as a variation on a gin sour.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 Oz. (52.5 ml) Gin
  • 1/2 Oz. (15 ml) Cherry liqueur
  • 1/4 Oz. (7.5 ml) Orange liqueur
  • 3/4 Oz. (22.5 ml) Fresh lemon juice
  • 1/8 Oz. (3.75 ml) Cinnamon syrup (adjust to taste)

Method

    1. Chill a Nick & Nora glass. 2. Add the gin, cherry liqueur, orange liqueur, fresh lemon juice and cinnamon syrup to a shaker. 3. Fill with ice and shake hard for 12–15 seconds, until well chilled. 4. Double-strain into the chilled glass. 5. Optionally garnish with an expressed orange peel or a cocktail cherry. Balance note: Start with 1/8 oz cinnamon syrup; cherry and orange liqueurs already add sweetness. Taste before increasing the syrup. Gin, cherry liqueur and orange liqueur may be any suitable brands. Add more cinnamon if wanted.
