The history of this cocktail is a bit of a mystery. Jeff “Beach bum” Barry attributes it to other cocktail riffs centered around the popular 1950’s cannibal theme in tiki bars. Still others believe its from the Mai Kai bar in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. (30 ml) Dark Rum
  • 1 oz. (30 ml) Gold Rum
  • 1 oz. (30 ml) lime juice
  • 1 oz. (30 ml) grenadine

Method

    Add ingredients to your shaker with ice and shake. Pour into your glass and top with additional ice.
